CHOC'D Rocks the Lions' Den!
February 10, 2013
This spectacular Zoo fundraiser will honor Ed Oates and his wife Jennifer Hammer. Ed and Jennifer are long time, generous supporters of the San Francisco Zoo. Ed is a member of the Zoo Board of Directors, co-founder of Oracle, and the lead singer and a guitar player in the band CHOC'D, who will provide entertainment for the evening.
The evening will include superb “farm-to-table” fare prepared by one of San Francisco’s finest chefs, Mark Dommen, of our lead sponsor, the Michelin Star One Market Restaurant.
Your contribution will advance the Zoo’s mission to connect people with wildlife, inspire caring for nature and advance conservation action. Each year, the San Francisco Zoo welcomes more than 800,000 visitors, 300,000 of whom are children. The San Francisco Zoo houses nearly 700 vertebrate animals representing some 250 species, including 78 mammal species, 26 reptile and amphibian species, and 84 bird species. We also house nearly 50 invertebrate species in our acclaimed Insect Zoo. Your support will help the animals thrive (for example, food for a single giraffe is more than $5,000 a year), as well as enable the zoo to continue its rescue activities, conservation projects and educational programs.
